SVP OF PAYOR RELATIONSHIPS
& POPULATION HEALTH
Philip Gillich is Call9’s SVP of Payor Relationships & Population Health and is responsible for leading the value-based contract initiatives for Call9’s emerging care model. In this role, Gillich leads and develops innovative contracting approaches and value/population-based data results in order to grow Call9’s participating payor agreements and prepare Call9 and payor partners to move from a fee-for-service environment to a value-based model. He also conducts payor negotiations associated with pay-for-performance, bundled payments and shared savings/risk, as well as other original payment initiatives that reduce medical expense and create value.
Gillich is a seasoned healthcare executive with extensive experience working for both provider organizations and payors on payment models and value-based data reporting that support population health, quality improvement and cost effectiveness. Gillich’s payor experience includes holding various provider network management leadership positions over 13 years at EmblemHealth in New York where he developed the provider networks and led the population health and value-based contracting division. He managed and negotiated risk contracts and led the migration from fee-for-service to risk. Prior to EmblemHealth, he was Empire BCBS (Anthem)’s Network Management Officer where he led the development of their physician market in the New York area. Earlier in his career, Gillich worked as an Administrator at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center and also ran an urban community health center.
Gillich earned his B.S. from Rutgers University, School of Environmental & Biological Sciences and his M.P.H. from CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy.
